I have been a voracious reader since I was four years old. My mother is a teacher, and reading was both a requirement and a reward in our house. I had to go to bed at a certain time, but was allowed to stay up half an hour later if I was reading in bed. As I got older, I wasn't allowed to stay up any longer, but was allowed to read longer. By the time I got to high school, I was still going to bed early (out of habit by this time) and reading for two or three hours.

Ironically, as strict as my parents were in some ways, I was allowed to read whatever I wanted. I was a huge fan of Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Alfred Hitchcock, Edgar Allen Poe, etc. But what was really humorous was that my parents let me read their books. My dad was a Frederick Forsythe fan and my mother was into Danielle Steel, so I got an interesting education.

A side note. I've had numerous people write me to tell me that they are not readers, but couldn't put down my book. I've had a few tell me that Blood Legacy is the only book they've ever finished. Hey, if I can add to the literacy of America, outstanding!

A final note. Strangely enough (for a fiction writer) I read far more nonfiction than fiction.

So, without further ado, here is my current/recent reading list:

Updated Note: Recently, I have been on a science fiction craze, which is unusual for me because, as I mentioned above, I have not read a lot of fiction for many years. However, I started reading through all of Isaac Asimov's work again (especially the Foundation series), which has aged amazingly well considering some of it was written in the 50s.
