Blood Legacy #1 lays the foundations of both the present and past stories. In the past, a young peasant boy grows to manhood in a violent, bloodthirsty world. In the present, a mysterious woman is found in the morgue who slowly begins returning to life. At the end, amazingly, the stories merge and these characters, separated by six centuries, are found to be one and the same.

Blood Legacy #2 continues the story as Susan Ryerson is contacted by the mysterious woman who previously disappeared. The woman, Ryan, tells Susan she is in great danger because she has accidentally revealed secrets of her Kind. It is not long before Ryan's words prove true, and Susan is confronted by the first of the Others. Susan cannot resist her scientific curiosity, however, and is drawn more and more to Ryan's story. Ryan obliges, continuing to tell of her past life, wherein she reaps a terrible revenge against those who killed her parents and destroyed her village.

In Blood Legacy #3 Ryan relives the battle of Agincourt, wherein she and her mentor single-handedly turn the tide of battle with their preternatural skills and predatory nature. Ryan also meets the Others for the first time, and realizes how vulnerable she is in the dark and erotic world Victor has brought her into. In the present, Susan Ryerson continues to seek the secrets of Ryan's immortality, and is discovering more than she should.

Blood Legacy #4 is the grand finale where the secrets of Ryan's past life are revealed. She is confronted by the Others, who now demand retribution for her past sins. Susan Ryerson is taken captive by the creatures, and Ryan is faced with the reality that, as powerful as she is, she may not be able to save the young doctor. And above all, Ryan is faced with the realization that, although she may be able to outrun every creature alive, she cannot outrun her past.

Blood Legacy: The Young Ones tells the stories of those at the bottom of the food chain, those too young to reproduce but old enough to feel the bloodlust of all of their Kind. Erika seeks out an ancient evil, one she hasn't sensed since she stumbled across the killing ovens of Auschwitz as a young Russian soldier.
